Operation Grayling

The North Seal River is one of the top if not THE top Arctic Grayling fishery in Manitoba and one of the tops in North America. With over 12 river systems and countless miles of prime grayling water, the resource is almost totally untapped. Ganglers is now working to change that. We are now on a mission, cutting trails thru thick river brush into several prime areas we have identified in our waters, opening up grayling areas that have never been fished before.

Our grayling project team consist of lodge guides- Bernard, Lenart, Travis and our roving outpost guide Ryan Yaskiw (former Stevens manager). All are extremely excited about this new project. Ryan also guides flyfishing in the off season and each spot is being cut to accommodate both spin and fly anglers. The guys finished their first trail off the North Seal at the main lodge yesterday and the results were everything we had hoped for. They cut ¼ mile of trail thru thick bush and opened five prime areas. They test fished the areas and reported the water was ‘on fire.’ In one spot Ryan took 10 fish on 10 casts including a beefy Master Angler. The goal is to end up with at least 5 trails cut on different river sections , opening a slew of virgin water to those wanting world-class grayling fishing.

Some spots are wadable and our 2026 program will include having waders available at the lodge.

We are very excited about these new addition to Ganglers ! Nothing can capture the beauty and solitude of the Sub-Arctic like being on a virgin, post card perfect Northern river, fishing (and catching)  trophy Arctic grayling.

Another reason why Ganglers is the top Canadian fly-in fishing lodge for the Canadian Grand Slam.
