Mike Borger 2025 & 2026 Bain Lake Slam

“In over 140 fly-in fishing trips over the course of my angling career, Gangler’s stands alone as the best run fishing lodge in Canada, and their camp on Bain Lake is simply the stuff of dreams. Fantastic facilities, excellent food, great boats, and multi-species trophy fishing makes it stand out, but it’s the people behind the operation that make it extra special. Bain ticks off every single box!”

We receive many outstanding trophy photos from our guests, but we can’t remember ever receiving a response like we did from Mike Borger’s two-week Bain Lake experience in 2025. The number of photos was truly overwhelming, and we’re excited to share as many as we realistically can.
The “Canadian Fishing Guide,” Mike Borger, returned once again to host two unforgettable weeks at one of his all-time favorite fisheries, Bain Lake. Pursuing the mid-summer slam of trophy northern pike, lake trout, walleye, and Arctic grayling, each group had an incredible experience. Simply put, this is among the finest Canadian fishing trips available.
Mike is drawn to Bain Lake for its rare combination of diverse structure, including weed beds, bays, deep holes, and strong current areas. The lake’s location at the junction of the North Seal River and four additional river systems creates exceptional fishing opportunities throughout the season.
Mike’s 2026 Summer Slam dates are July 25 to August 1, which is sold out, and August 1 to August 8, with only four spots remaining.
If you’re unable to join us, we hope you enjoy this selection of photos from those two incredible weeks. This is just a small sampling of what Bain Lake has to offer.
