2023 Season Update

The season definitely started on a unique note as our area had its earliest ice-out since we started here, over 25 years ago. Obviously, this pushed up the spring time table but with cooling temps for most of June, it was not as dramatic as one would expect. It was very unexpected as our last two years of ice outs were actually later than normal. Rainfall has been good and the lower water levels we started with have consistently risen throughout the year and continue to rise. Because of the rainfall, we have been blessed, avoiding the fires so many other areas have contended with and encountering only a few days of the smoke that is plaguing the rest of North America.

The fishing has been awesome, and all species have thrilled guests. One angler, in our back bay behind the lodge, had one 29 ½” and three 28” walleyes in one hour.  Can’t wait to see what other pleasant surprises 2023 will bring!

We will be sharing lots of great stories and photos in the coming months.
