146 Fish Per Day

nice laker

Guest Mike Murry took two trips with Ganglers in 2015, one with some old friends and later with his wife and another couple.  He returned a week ago with good friend Kevin Dodd  and enjoyed another great trip, averaging 146 fish per day per boat for a total of 950 in a 6 ½ days of fishing. Needless to say, they had many trophies.  He promises next year friends and the wives will return, we can’t wait, they were a blast ! In the meantime, he shared some photos we hope you enjoy !

Still Have Dates for 2016 There is still some limited availability of great trips at the main lodge and outposts. At the lodge, 7 day trips Aug. 6-13 (2); 4 day trips  July  22-26 (4), July 30-August 3 (2), August 3- 7 (8), and Aug. 7-11 (2) have some limited availability.  Stevens has an opening for 2-4 July 23-30. Give us a call , drop us an email, and we will share some late season specials and get you the fishing trip of a lifetime. Late July and August are a great time on the North Seal, with big weed beds full of pike and lakers stacked in the holes.

2017 Reservations 2017 is already shaping up as a busy season for Ganglers. The earlier , the better, to ensure the time slot you prefer. Main lodge and outpost slots are filling quickly. Two notable outpost spots now open are June 10-17 (4)  at Stevens/Nicklin and June 24- July 1 at Maria.  These spots have been unavailable for years, held by longtime groups. Give us a call, they won’t last long.

Not All Travel Insurance is Created EqualWe recently had an old guest experience a health issue  travel insurance is specially created for.  The guest was in his late 40s, perfect health, and suffered an occurrence that needed to be evaluated asap. He has a policy with a prominent Travel Insurance company that had Medical Evacuation insurance of $ 500,000 listed on his paperwork. I personally contacted the company and dealt with a very frustrating representative to try to get action. His policy was NOT as written. The official line I received from the company rep was they are not the ‘First Responder’ and the individual must be first be evacuated to a medical facility and evaluated  before they could get involved.  She suggested calling 911 !  Needless to say, we dealt immediately with taking care of the guest ourselves but not without undue cost to the poor guest and a lot of undue aggravation for all.
The Global Rescue Insurance offered by Ganglers through Orvis is designed for specific instances like this. While we have only dealt with a handful of incidences in 30 years of outfitting,  for $ 5 a day you can not ask for better coverage. Beware when choosing your insurance.
