The Legend of Maria Lake

Long time guest Ed McKenzie and his group have fished with Ganglers for 16 years. They favor the outposts and Maria is definitely their favorite. Ed sent us a short note and some photos we wanted to share with you:

“Ken,

        The legend of “The Maria Lake Monster” lives on. Big fish in large quantities validated the quality of fishing that The Maria Mini Lodge generates. There were times you were catching so many big fish that you wanted to sit back just to catch your breath but then the familiar cry of “Fish On” would ring out and boom another lunker had another fisherman in a battle to land another big one. You did not want to sit back and miss the action so up you would jump and away you would go. 

       We loved the new motors and the great new lodge. It truly is a “Mini Lodge!” Shane and his wife are great hosts and the work they have done to the property has truly upgraded the experience. We are already looking forward to next year. This will be our 16th year at Ganglers. (COVID took away 1 year or we would be up to 18)
