July Fun At Ganglers!
Ken,
Just a note to thank you for yet another great trip. As usual, the staff was friendly and accommodating, the food was excellent, and the fishing was outstanding. I was joined this year by a friend, Mike Kleber, on his first Canadian fishing trip. We caught many fish of all four species, but Mike really had the trip of a lifetime by catching four trophies. Our guide Raymond had us fishing deep weeds at Blackfish Lake right after lunch. Mike was casting a 1 oz silver minnow and I was casting a gold. Wham!…Mike hooked a large Northern, a 44″ one that Raymond estimated at about 30 lbs. Mike’s next cast landed him a stout 43″ one. A couple of casts later I got in on some of the action with a nice 37″ fish. I was getting the feeling they preferred silver to gold. But whatever… within 15 minutes we’d caught three nice pike, two of trophy size. Had a similar great experience with Lake Trout our last afternoon on Egenolf Lake. Mike was fishing a 1oz. white jig and I was using a white and black. He caught a 38″ and 37″ Laker and I caught a 35″. I was getting the feeling they preferred white to white and black. I was also getting the feeling I would let Mike pick my lure colors from now on. Anyway, thank you again for doing what you do best…put people on some of the best fishing available in a truly ideal, remote setting. Look forward to seeing you next year.
