Incredible Twofer

Reed Westphal and son River booked our Ganglers/Churchill combo trip, with 4 days at the North Seal River Lodge and 3 days in Churchill. By day 4 of their trip, they were already well into an exceptional experience with us. Hundreds of fish, and big fish had been caught. Reed is a very well-traveled and exceptional fly-fisherman, enjoying adventures across the globe, from the Seychelles to the steelhead rivers of Oregon. But it was son River who ended up having the DAY of a lifetime!

Reed and River’s last day started with a fly-out to one of our exceptional fly-out lakes. Nice size pike, along with dozens of huge walleye made for an exciting day. We will have photos of Reed’s fish in another email blast – stay tuned! That same day, River tied into a monster pike his guide had been eyeing over several trips. River was up to the challenge and landed a beautiful solid 47” monster pike. A fish of a lifetime. Obviously, everyone was ecstatic. As the day edged on, guide Alex decided to go looking for big lake trout, one of his deepest loves. This particular lake is usually only fished for pike and walleye, but we know it has exceptional quality for the entire Canadian Grand Slam. Alex went trout hole hunting and soon found what he was looking for. River was the lucky recipient because after some hot and heavy lake trout action, he hooked into his SECOND monster of the day, a 42” lake trout. Unreal. A 47” pike and a 42” lake trout in the same day! It is a day River will never forget!
