Great Opening Week Trip

This GFL email features 2023 guest Greg Allen. Greg is an old friend and contemporary. For many years as a noted outfitter in Quebec, Greg and his partners quickly became good friends with the Gangler’s. Greg eventually left the outfitting to fully concentrate on custom home-building but his pursuit for big trophy fish has never wavered. Greg made his first trip ever to Ganglers’s North Seal River Lodge a week ago with fishing partner Dave Snavely. The photos tell the tale and here are a few notes from Greg.

“We just got back last week from our trip to Gangler’s North Seal River Lodge. Despite a cold front moving in after extremely warm weather, we did very well on Walleye and Pike with lots of nice fish and a couple 40” plus Pike. It was 18” to 24” Walleye one after another with a 25” the biggest we got.

Our last day was a fly-out to Booth Lake.  Our guide knew the Laker holes and it was non stop from start to finish. We caught 35 total with five over 33”, 36”,38”, and 39” were the biggest and we dropped one that I couldn’t move on 50 lb braid. Pictures don’t do the lodge justice and the staff was over the Top.  Don’t go there to lose weight because the food is awesome and all you could eat.
