Early Winter !

This fall has been the coldest we have ever seen in 22 years of being at the North Seal. It seemed cold right from the end of August and never let up. The bay in front of the lodge froze up as early as Sept. 22. That eventually went away but on Sept. 30, it did so again and based on the upcoming forecast, we are not sure this one is leaving. We have never seen anything like this. Usually ice is just starting to form after the first week of October.
