Borger is Back!

Renowned Canadian angler and host Mike Borger, host of www.canadianfishingguide.net , is back at Gangler’s in 2023!

This trip will be a special one, as Mike returns to a vast waterway he loves, Bain Lake, ready to tackle the Canadian Grand Slam but especially, Lake Trout on the Spawn. If we catch them right, it could possibly be the best angling you will ever experience in your life!

Bain’s waters  feature the rocky shallow depths and vast depths (over 200’) that support incredible lake trout fisheries. We have long felt Bain’s lake trout potential has been under explored and there is no better host than Mike to unlock the potential. We have included some photos of Mike and his son Brendan with some past trophies caught at Bain.

One quick story about Bain and its lake trout potential. We had a very experienced fisher/hunter, a doctor from North Dakota, Dr. Byron, who fished and moose hunted Bain for over 8 years every September. He told me he and his long-time guide hooked a lake trout so big, when they got it into the cradle it hung out 6” on either end. It was so heavy they could not lift it into the boat! He said the eyeballs on the fish were as large as a small pie plate. True story.

Mike will be at Bain Sept. 10-18, 2023. Space is limited to only 8 lucky anglers. The price is $4,095 from Winnipeg and includes cooking services. It is a rare opportunity to take advantage of an awesome angling opportunity with a host whose fishing and teaching skills we hold in the highest regard.
