Big Pike Extrava-Gangler’s!

Long-time Ganglers guests John and Tom Tanner are ‘Team Tanner’. They have now fished with us for over 20 years and have enjoyed some of the most astounding catches any Ganglers guests have ever experienced.

Their 2024 June visit started slow, with record high water and cold temps pushing the pike back into what had previously been dry shoreline. As the days passed, the weather improved,  waters began to warm, and their luck on big pike improved dramatically. At the end of the day, after a slow start, their trophy numbers began to climb to admirable levels. Here’s John’s report-

“We ended up with 16 trophies, including a monster 47” pike at one lake, a hot ten trophy day on another and over 60 pike 38”-40” as waters began warm.

Two things really stood out this year. The first was the size of the walleye. Biggest I’ve ever seen there. Large and healthy looking. Many close to Master Angler size. The second was the helicopter. Not only was it thrilling, but the entrance and exit from the lakes was so much quicker and efficient. The high water level made us work harder to find the fish but one day was incredibly memorable.. It was clear and sunny so we could sight fish. The pike kept changing what they were interested in. We used about everything in our tacklebox . Which you know is a lot! “

John and Tom again experienced  incredible June fishing at North Seal River Lodge.  Pike in the shallows, some of the best sight casting in the world of angling !
