A ‘Poor’ Day- 100 Fish !
Kim and Henry Thiesen are experienced fishermen. They have been to numerous fishing destinations and we have been fortunate they have called Ganglers home the last three years. Last year and this, they are doing a June trip and another in August (a time slot they favor). Kim is a relentless fisherwoman and the guides really enjoy guiding her. Kim topped her personal best this spring with this beautiful 48” pike.
‘Hi Ken, sorry it took a bit to get back to you. Henry and I caught 5 trophies , 3-42″, 1-44″, and 1-47 1/2″ and our biggest walleye each were a 26″ and a 27″. Our best day fishing was a fly out on Wednesday ( can’t recall the lake) we had 177 northerns and 111 walleye! That was an awesome day! The other days for sure over 100 fish on the poorer days ( if you can call that a poor day!) and the other days over 150!! That was one of our better fishing trips even with the wind blowing!!!

Fishing Report The fishing has been nothing but tremendous. LOTS of big fish and the numbers have been staggering. We will be sharing lots of stories over the coming months but the numbers have been truly staggering. Two main lodge guests went into a fly-out lake we have been resting for a couple of years and caught over 400 fish in one day. That’s a fish a minute and mostly pike between 32”-38”.
Nothing compares to the amazing North Seal River fishery.
Not Too Late for 2016 There are great trips available at the main lodge and outposts. At the lodge, July 18-22, 22-26, July 30-August 3, August 3- 7, and Aug. 7-11 have some limited availability. Maria has some great spots open throughout July. Stevens is available July 23-30. 2017 Reservations 2017 is already shaping up to be a really busy season for Ganglers. Give us a call now and lock-in 2016 rates. The earlier , the better, to ensure the time slot you prefer. Two notable outpost spots now open are June 10-17 at Stevens/Nicklin and June 24- July 1 at Maria. These spots have been unavailable for years, held by longtime groups. Give us a call, they won’t last long.
