2017 Off With A Bang!

Running the finest, most remote fly-in fishing lodge in Canada is always interesting and every year is different. 2017 was true to form. Start with record high water levels. We have never seen water levels approaching these levels in our 19 years at the North Seal. Water levels were at least 2′ higher than our top levels last Fall and we have heard set records for all of Northern Manitoba. All docks had to be raised and thankfully we already have floating docks at the main lodge, Maria, and Burnie. Bain’s new floater is also now complete.

The fishing started slowly with some cold temps but a winter without active feeding soon had the fishing zooming to its typical amazing levels.

There is so much that goes on behind the scenes to create this fly-in oasis. We feel strongly no other lodge can offer the angling experiences Ganglers offers. Our multitude of amazing lakes continues to blow anglers away and we have a couple of lakes we may fish this year where the boats have not been used in 5 years. What other Canadian lodge can offer that ? Ganglers has no interest in being the biggest, simply the best.

The 2017 season is shaping up nicely and we look forward to sharing more great stories and experiences in the Current.

2017 Improvements

At Ganglers, our guests know we never rest on our laurels, constantly working to improve their experiences. In 2017, we have given the main lodge a beautiful facelift, with new carpeting, sconce lighting, and new furniture. To say it is breathtaking would not be a misnomer. Our Stevens/Nicklin outpost has new carpeting and new boats. At Maria, we gutted and remodeled the boats, with some neat improvements on the original design. They are awesome and the guests are raving about them. At Bain, a new docking system which can be retrofitted and moved about accordingly will facilitate comfortable docking. Clifton has some furniture additions. Come see why our outposts are rated #1 in Northern Canada with a repeat clientele second to none.
