MARIA LAKE MAGIC

Maria Lake is the original mini-lodge concept, created by Ganglers, and to this day, an all-time favorite. It should be. The watershed is awesome, a combination of Maria and three outstanding portage lakes. Maria is the headwaters of the North Seal River and stretches over 17 miles long x 7 miles wide. It is full of interesting structure and bays and of course, a major river system running through it. It features portages to Caron Lake, Wiedenhammer Lake,  and the North Seal River itself . Exceptional angling for big pike, Lake trout and record Arctic Grayling are in Maria, Caron and NSR. Reopening Wiedenhammer , a great walleye lake, was a feat in itself with a new boat and motor helicoptered into the critical portage site. Now Maria guests are ensured once again of access to excellent walleye fishing and the full Canadian Grand Slam.

The entire watershed dedicated to Maria stretches over 110,000 acres.

Our new managers, Erin and Bobby, were a delightful find and guests raved about the meals and overall experience they provided.  A really nice, sincere young couple and Erin’s artwork is amazing. They weren’t avid fisher people at the start but quickly became ‘hooked’ as they learned and enjoyed Maria’s waters. Looking at these photos, they have gotten very good at it !

Enjoy these great photos of Erin and Bobby and guests Jennifer Craig and Jordan Dragovic as they enjoyed the incredible angling of Maria Lake and the wonderful trophies it produces.
