Season Opens with Large Aggressive Pike

Long-time guest John Tanner has fished with Gangler's many different times of the year but never for our season opener. He's really enjoying being the first to fish many of our lakes this year! Along with his son Luke, we are only halfway through our season opener and they are really smoking some really big fish!   John landed a beautiful 48" pike and Luke had a fat 45" and 43" on a fly. John's personal largest is 49 1/2" but he seems even more excited about this 48". Guide Adolph Cook is definitely producing!

Our 2019 season is off to a great start despite the late ice-out being and the cold chill in the air. But the weather has now taken a warmer turn with sunny skies. Water levels are very low and continue to rise and with only three days into the season, our fishing is off to an epic start with dozens of trophy pike and lakers landed and hot action. The fish have nowhere to hide! We expect to have lots more to report on our next edition of The Current.
