CLIFTON LAKE SUMMER TRIP ROCKS!

For many people, Clifton Lake epitomizes the 'ultimate' outpost camp. This comfy cabin for 4-6 people sits alone on Clifton Lake, an amazing body of water on the Johnson River, one of several rivers that tie into the North Seal. Clifton has it all - big pike, lake trout up to 40 lbs., arctic grayling, and possibly some of the finest walleye fishing on the planet. The walleye here average 20-26", with walleye up to 32" landed. They are well-fed, chunky, and amazingly plentiful. The top day ever on Clifton was over 400 fish caught and released. With all of those chunky walleye around it produces some amazingly big pike. One pike lost at the boat (while walleye fishing), was estimated at 56" or better by a veteran guide. When we opened the North Seal in 1998, the In-Fisherman crew took over 5 hrs. of footage and the Lindners actually considered using it for promo videos they shot for Normark. Clifton is ideal for parties of 3-6 people and has a camp manager onsite.

Hey Ken!

Just a quick note on our trip to Clifton last summer. I would say it was our "typical" week at Clifton in late summer. . . . meaning the pike were everywhere, fat and getting fatter. We found them in the normal weedbeds but ran into them in shallows in big numbers. Running a plastic in a couple feet of water and watching pike devour them is incredible fishing. We have found a spot that we call "Frog Bay" that is not a big place, but the numbers and quality of fish that we pull out of there on plastic frogs in unbelievable.

My sister Cindy joined us this year. . . . she hasn't fished for pike since we were growing up in the 70's and our dad would take me and my sisters to Ontario fishing. It was like riding a bike for her. . . . she caught a pike on her first cast and didn't stop there. She caught pike, lake trout and walleye all week and kept up with "the guys" like a pro. Both of my sisters have been to Ganglers now to experience a week of not only incredible fishing, but also quality family time.

July 13-20, 20-27, Aug. 3-10 These are all prime summer dates, like the article above. Big pike in the bays and weed beds, walleyes stacked in the river channels and current areas, lakers in the holes, and grayling trying to safely hide away in the rivers. Great weather, great fishing, what more can you ask for?
